Digestive Lemon Ginger Drink
Refresh and support your gut with this zingy, anti‑inflammatory beverage.
- 2 cups water
- Juice of 2 fresh lemons
- 1‑inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled and sliced
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder (raw, preferably)
- 1 tablespoon raw honey (optional)
- A pinch of cayenne pepper
- A pinch of sea salt
- Several fresh mint leaves (for garnish)
- Place the water in a saucepan and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Stir in the sliced ginger, turmeric, cayenne pepper, and mint leaves. Let it steep for about 5 minutes.
- Remove the pan from heat, strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve, and transfer the liquid to a heat‑proof glass.
- While the liquid is still warm, stir in the lemon juice, honey, and sea salt until dissolved.
- Serve immediately hot, or cool to room temperature and refrigerate for a chilled drink. Garnish with a mint sprig.
Health Tip: Ginger boosts digestive motility and reduces bloating, while lemon’s vitamin C and citric acid promote a balanced gut flora. This drink is ideal after meals or before bedtime for gentle, soothing support.
